Your new D-ID app means that you will not need to carry the S5 DRS fobs with you. Your phone app instantly recognises you as an authorised driver when you enter your vehicle. 

As well as the standard S5 tracker specifications, your tracking system is linked directly to your phone to identify you remotely as the authorised driver of your vehicle. This protects you against all of the current methods of theft such as key theft and relay crime. 
Your D-ID app system acts as an effective and convenient alternative to carrying Driver ID fobs for all authorised drivers.
  • The Smartrack S5 Plus insurance approved tracker has recently been tested and categorised to TQA standards, with a 24/7 monitoring service.
  • The new Smartrack S5 Plus Thatcham tracker operates using GPS and GLONASS satellite networks and maximises GPRS and GSM technology to ensure that the S5 Plus is the most comprehensive theft recovery device now available.
  • The S5 Plus is the upgraded version of the CAT 5 thatcham tracker and features an advanced in-built battery back up system. This means that your S5 Tracker will still remain operating even if your vehicle’s power supply is removed.
  • Your S5 Plus stolen vehicle recovery tracker features remote engine immobilisation as standard. Remote immobilisation allows the control room to immobilise your vehcile in the event of a theft. PLEASE NOTE: the immobilisation system is not a standard requirement in order for you to receive your S5 completion certificate. It is an additional security feature that you can opt for. You will also be issued with an S5 completion certificate.
 

Automatic Driver Recognition System

  • Your phone app has a private account that you log in to and can share with other authorised users of the vehicle. 
  • The ADR app recognises you as soon as you enter the vehicle and does not impact your normal driver behaviour - just drive your vehicle as normal.
  • ADR (Automatic Driver Recognition) is an incredibly effective system offering protection against key theft, key cloning and keyless entry/theft.
  • If someone tries to enter and start your vehicle without the ADR app present, an alert is triggered immediately in the 24/7 control centre- even if the thief has stolen your keys!

How will I find out if my car already has a tracker?

There are several different types of GPS trackers, all with different purposes and features. Most vehicles these days will have a factory fitted tracker of some kind installed as standard. However, these are not Thatcham approved, as they have not been tested for security. Thatcham approved trackers need to be installed as aftermarket products. This minimises the chance of a thief locating the tracking device (factory-fitted devices are all fitted in the same location). This is why, unless you have specifically arranged an insurance approved vehicle tracker installation in the past, it is unlikely you will already have a suitable device on your vehicle.

How do insurance approved vehicle trackers work?

Insurance approved vehicle trackers purpose is as a theft prevention/recovery device. The two main reasons that insurance providers are insisting that vehicle tracking devices are installed are 1) theft rates for keyless entry vehicles are rising. 2) insurance approved vehicle trackers are highly effective against the most common theft methods.
