Top Up Credits Explained
Trackershop provide the most cost effective solution for real time GPS Tracking. Top up credits enable you to view your GPS Tracker’s location in live time. These positions are then also recorded in your tracking history reports, for you to view at any time. No contract required, you simply pay for what you use.
To add a credit package to your GPS Tracker, first add the package to your basket and complete the checkout process. For existing customers who already have a tracker, please put your Tracker ID in the requested field in the checkout. New customers can leave this field blank. Your credits will be added automatically and you do not need to do anything to activate them.
Position credits are needed to track your GPS Tracker in real time (When your device is on the move). Position credits are also needed so that your GPS Tracker can create a Tracking history report, displaying where your GPS Tracker has been. Position credits are only used whilst the device is in motion, a motion sensor inside your tracker detects the movement. When your GPS Tracker isn’t in motion, it will go into sleep mode and does not use any position credits.
To give you an example of how position credits work: If you set your GPS tracker to update it’s position every minute and it is in motion for 60 minutes, you will use 60 position credits. For the same journey, if you set it to report every 10 minutes you will use 6 credits. As well as being able to monitor your GPS Tracker update its new position in live time, this information will also be stored for you to see at a later date in your tracking history.
You control how often the device reports a positon update via a click of a button on your mapping panel- and can change this at any time. You can choose report times ranging from every 5 Seconds up to every 60 minutes.
SMS credits are used when you change the frequency of the position updates, e.g. from every 5 seconds reporting to every 10 minutes. An SMS Credit will also be used if you set up GEO fences. Geo fences allow you to monitor a particular location/address. When your GPS tracker enters/leaves this location, you can receive an instant text alert.
