PRO POD 6 GPS TRACKER REVIEW

My sister and I have been using a GPS ProPod tracker from Trackershop to help with the care of our Dad.

He was diagnosed with dementia last year. He lives alone, and is still very independent, but has been gradually getting worse as this year's gone on. We were recommended to look at Trackershop.com's ProPod range by a family friend who had been using one for several months at that point. 

The ProPod arrived and was ready to use straight out of the box. There was nothing for us to set up other than entering our phone numbers in to the admin box, to receive text alerts.

The map panel is easy to navigate around, and seems to be designed to be easily used for people who aren't particularly technically minded (i.e me!)

We log in mainly from the app on our phones, as we are not always in front of a computer. 

We tested the ProPod ourselves before we gave it to Dad.

The ProPod delivered pin point location accuracy over the course of an entire day of testing. It didn’t miss a beat!! We were really impressed by this. It definitely exceeded our expectations here.

We have set up a safety zone around Dad's house.

This means we receive a text message when he goes out, and then another one when he gets home.

This has by far been one of the best features. We know he is never typically out for more than a couple of hours at a time. So if we haven't had a return text within a reasonable amount of time, we can go straight in to the mapping app to see where he is.

Before using a tracker, he would have to ring one of us before going out, and then when he got home again. If he was ever out longer than expected, or fell asleep in his chair before ringing, or simply forgot, this would cause unnecessary stress and sometimes a journey out to check on him.

Something so simple and relatively cheap as a GPS tracker has allowed Dad more independence, and has allowed us all to continue living life as stress free as possible. 

The website says that the ProPod has a battery life of 7-10 days. As a rule we tend to charge ours once a week, as we visit over the weekend and go out for the day. This is what's convenient to us, and the battery usually still has approx. 25-30% power remaining. So 10 days is likely to be accurate.

All in all, I can't rate our trackershop tracker highly enough. It's not an exaggeration to say that it has been a life changer for us, and has helped allow Dad to stay in his own home for much longer, and keep up as much of his normal routine as possible.

PRO POD 5 GPS TRACKER REVIEW

I have used your Pro Pod 5 GPS Trackers for five remotely supervised expeditions for young people and I am so impressed by the positive impact the product has had on our expeditions that I thought I would write a review in case you would like to use any of it for your website or blog.

First of all I would like to thank you for your customer service. You gave great advice and took time to discuss my requirements. The equipment was delivered quickly and instructions were concise and very easy to follow.

The Pro Pod 5 GPS Trackers are small enough that the students are happy to carry them and, in their little belt pouches, they are incredibly robust, having suffered no damage at all from getting wet, muddy, squashed and dropped! The battery easily lasts 5 days.

The Trackpanel software is intuitive, giving valuable information regarding time, rest periods and a tracking history. Supervisors can access the Trackpanel easily using mobile phones/tablets/laptops on 3G and café Wi-Fi.

The use of trackers has increased the confidence of both the students and supervisors in our ability to deal with the range of safety issues that can arise during an expedition, as well as enabling us to improve the efficiency of the deployment of supervisory staff.

We have been able to use the tracker histories to evaluate routes, noting navigation 'black spots' and footpath diversions. We have also used the tracker histories as a teaching tool to show participants where they travelled, enabling them to review the decisions they made on their expedition.

However, it is the credit system that makes your trackers an ideal solution for organisations dealing with young people. As the trackers are only used a few times per year, a yearly subscription, which is the norm for GPS trackers, is often not a viable option. I estimate that 2500 credits, set to track every 10 minutes, would last around 20 expedition days.
