The Truth About Battery Life
We at Trackershop-UK advertise battery life for all of our trackers based on our personal testing process. If we say a tracker battery will last up to three weeks it is because we have repeatedly tested it and found it to be the case.

All of our trackers are set by default to report their location to the mapping server every minute, but this can be altered at will by the tracker user either via the easy-mapping panel of by sending an SMS text message direct to the tracker.

Naturally, the more a tracker reports its position, the more battery power it will use. The choice is yours. We have found that the minute reporting is by far the best reporting period to reach a compromise between the trackers operational use and battery life.

Take our advice; if you speak to any of our competitors, ask them how long their tracker battery will stay live WITH THE TRACKER SET TO 1 MINUTE REPORTING.

After you have done this give us a quick call and we will be happy to describe the true situation to you.

The best way to consider battery life when you are looking at GPS trackers is to think of the battery as a resevoir of location reports. Each location report uses a small amout of power from the battery.

Using our Enforcer long-life GPS tracker as an example; the battery will provide something close to 2500 location reports. If programmed to report automatically every minute and attached to a vehicle which moves on average 2 hours per day the maths will indicate that the battery will last some 3 weeks. We have confirmed this as being the case during thorough testing. The tracker though can be programmed to report at any set period to enable you to get the battery life that you need for your situation. If we were to set the tracker to report its location every 15 minutes, and it was attached to a vehicle that moved the same 2 hours a day, the battery should last for close to 300+ days.
